Collins Barracks, Dublin

The project is the transformation of Collins army barracks into a National Museum. Sophia was called up to assist architect Gilroy Macmahon in imagining an appropriate design for 6 hectares of site traditionally forbidden to the public and hidden behind a very high wall.

Her idea was to open up the site by making a monumental entrance of stepped terraces which would run the length of the museum site overlooking the river.
